III. Account Executive (AE)
Summary:
This is an entry-level sales position. The AE will start out learning the
business in support to, and under the guidance of a current Senior Account Executive
(SAE) and sales trainers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with customers and carriers over the phone
- Prospect consistent business from shippers and receivers of truckload freight
through cold calling, which eventually develops into warm calling
- Negotiate rates with customers and carriers
- Continuously build customer and carrier base
- Occasionally visit customers
Required:
- Desire for career in sales
- Strong work ethic, energetic, fast learner
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (face to face and phone)
- Experienced problem-solving skills
- Proven time management skills
- Natural negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Typing skills (25 wpm minimum)
- Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet
software
- Strong organizational skills
- Motivated to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to simultaneously operate multiple phones and phone lines
- Comfortable working in a very fast paced environment
- Ability to stay focused in an extremely active / open office environment
- Must be available to occasionally take calls during the evening and weekends,
and work half days 1 Saturday a month.
- Resourceful
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree
- Transportation industry experience
